GUNC Stars Reach Field Guide

Stars Reach: Trading, banking & storage

Direct trades, Vendor Kiosks, Banks, and Homestead storage each solve a different problem. Knowing which one you used also helps you find the item again later.

Direct trades handle personal exchanges, Vendor Kiosks support player shops, Banks protect long-term inventory, and Homestead storage keeps project materials close to the work.

Where to put or exchange an item

Secure tradeUse a face-to-face trade when both players are present and can inspect the full exchange.
Vendor KioskList goods on a Homestead so other players can browse and buy while you are elsewhere.
BankOpen a Bank kiosk and drag items or stacks between your Backpack and the bank vault.
Homestead storageShare materials according to Homestead permissions and keep construction stock close to the site.

Review both sides before accepting

Say what you are trading

Agree on the item, amount, Klaatu or barter goods, and whether containers, leftovers, or damaged gear are included.

Look over the item

Read the name, quantity, PQRV, durability, and other visible properties.

Recheck after any change

If either player adds, removes, or swaps something, read both sides again.

Make Backpack space first

Clear enough room before opening the trade, especially when you are away from town.

Make sure it arrived

After the trade closes, make sure the right item and amount are in the Backpack.

Agree on the commission before crafting

Say what the item should do

Name the visible property that matters, not only the item, so the crafter knows which PQRV letter to plan around.

Open the current recipe together

Check the component chain, stations, output amount, and what result the customer will accept.

Decide who brings each ingredient

Also agree on allowed substitutions and who keeps leftover materials.

Agree on payment and test crafts

Set the Klaatu or barter amount, timing, and who covers a test component that misses the target.

Compare the finished item, then trade

Compare it with the agreement, complete the payment, and return the leftovers.

Using a Vendor Kiosk

Make and place the kiosk

Place the kiosk somewhere visitors can reach without crossing private storage or unstable ground.

Give listing access to the stock manager

Only authorized Homestead editors can post and remove listings.

Look at the item before setting the price

Consider quantity, PQRV, durability, availability, and what the item does.

Keep sale stock separate

Do not mix it with GovBot contributions, commissions, repairs, or building materials.

Come back and check the kiosk

Review sold items, unsold stock, and proceeds. Klaatu from completed sales waits at the kiosk.

Keep storage simple

Separate storage by use

Keep personal items, town materials, commissions, sale stock, repairs, food, and rare PQRV finds apart.

Separate material stages

Deposits, ores, refined materials, alloys, components, and finished gear are easier to use when they are not mixed together.

Open the Bank vault

Open a Bank kiosk and make sure a stored item appears in the vault before planning a build around it.

Keep build stock near the site

Give storage and editing access only to the players who need those materials.

Look at food condition before packing or selling it

Look at the item's current condition before a trip or sale.
